Third Christmas Quilt – 2011

Back in December, David and I were driving around and I remembered it was the Heart to Heart Quilt stores open house.  We thought about it for a minute and decided to go over and see what they had.  While we were there, they had David and I sign up for their hourly prize drawing.  Well, wouldn’t you know it – David won.  They took him to another room where he draw a number to see what he actually won.  He of course won the jackpot…a jelly roll and a layer cake of matching fabric, about $70 in total.  Not bad considering we weren’t really planning on going.

Anyway, one look at the fabric and we both thought of my mother-in-law and David’s niece.  Lots of pinks, greens, and yellows, just perfect fabric for a feminine quilt.  We looked and found a great pattern that would use the layer cake plus some extra yardage and be a perfect quilt for a Christmas gift.  David and I started work on it today and it went together VERY easily.  We were able to finish it early this afternoon – yes a whole quilt top done in about 8 hours.  It is amazing how quickly these go together with a little help.
